Today, more than ever, we indeed have a wealth of information about various buildings apart from temples, such as houses and fortifications, while various constructions, for example in funerary architecture, appear as characteristic of a region during a specific period.
We will present buildings of this kind, primarily within the local context to which they belong, and we will emphasize the relationship between them and, more broadly, the urban planning perception of the Greeks, a subject with many implications today.
However, we believe it is essential to begin the research by searching for the people behind the materials and monuments: who are those involved in the construction, the architects and craftsmen, for whom we have testimonies that allow us to evaluate their way of working and their social status...
