Durable multi-sport GPS watch with long battery life.

Presentation by Suunto

Built to Last

The Suunto 9 is an advanced multi-sport watch with an integrated next-generation optical heart rate monitor (Valencell v1.2), a color touch screen, 100m water resistance, and 120-hour battery life in training conditions with GPS usage. It comes preloaded with 80 different sports profiles, each featuring specialized metrics & indicators. Track your progress and train smarter by interacting with the large user community on Suunto Movescount.

Suunto Fusedtrack for greater accuracy and distance

On long journeys, battery life is often the limiting factor for accurate distance recording and tracking, as GPS quickly drains the battery. Suunto's unique FusedTrack algorithm combines GPS data and motion sensor data to improve route and distance accuracy. This allows you to extend battery life by reducing GPS power without compromising accuracy.

Thousands of hours of testing in the toughest conditions

"When we talk about training or racing tools for any adventure or endurance sport, the first thing I consider is durability, because it actually gives you the opportunity to simply focus on what you need to do."

Mauricio Méndez Cruz, triathlete.

The Suunto 9 was designed and built to meet the demands of professional athletes. Tested in extreme conditions with thousands of hours of real use by the Suunto test team and athletes from around the world, it is your reliable companion in any adventure.

Never worry about battery life

Three predefined battery modes - Performance, Endurance, and Ultra - provide from 25 hours up to 120 hours of operating time with GPS enabled. When you start a recording, you will receive an estimate of how much battery you have available with the current mode. The Suunto 9 uses smart reminders to ensure that you are fully charged for your next outing. If your watch notices that you have low battery during an exercise, it will automatically suggest switching to a different battery mode.

Share your passion with the Suunto app

Connect the Suunto 9 with the new Suunto app to track all your adventures, as well as follow your long-term trends and daily activity. Easily share your greatest achievements and connect with others in the community. The smart connection with your phone keeps you connected with incoming call notifications, messages, and alerts on your watch. The Suunto app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

Coming from Garmin Fenix 5, which covered me completely but broke with saltwater (!), I can say that the Suunto 9 disappointed me completely. On the positive side, it has a lightweight (you don't feel it on your wrist), a touch screen (which doesn't work in the sea though).
Beyond that, it's chaos. It cannot be customized, nor does it have applications that you can load from your phone like Garmin. The battery lasts half as long as Garmin and the clarity/brightness of the screen is not great. Of course, it significantly lacks the capabilities of Garmin. Not to mention the mobile application... Simply frustrating.

Very good watch at 280 euros that I bought. Quality, easy to use with good battery life and GPS. The only negative is the heart rate monitor. Not a good measurement despite being upgraded. It covers all my sports activities

(+) Battery life (With approximately 15 hours of GPS usage per week, the battery lasts comfortably for 7-9 days)
    (+) Weight
(+) Very detailed mapping through the Suunto app for any sport
    (+) Quality-price ratio
(-) Sometimes, due to exercise (specifically when wearing the watch on the left hand), the pause button can be pressed
(-) The screen could be faster in terms of handling
(-) Sometimes there is a delay in connecting to the mobile phone

As an owner for 1 month and using it daily for sports activities, my opinion is that it is a watch with many capabilities and very good quality for its price. It is worth buying for its capabilities, even to wear it as an everyday watch! As for heart rate, I did not mention it as positive or negative because with the strap it is accurate, without the strap it can sometimes show fewer or more heartbeats, especially during exercise. But the more you wear it throughout the day, the better results it shows for heart rate!

This review is about a variation of the product

The top multisport watch that you buy exclusively for your athletic activities and secondly for smartwatch use.
As an owner of the top multisport watches (fenix 5x and 3hr, spartan ultra), I could confidently say that the Suunto 9 is the flagship in its category.
Buy it with closed eyes, for those who know its capabilities and are planning to get it.
*The all black is by far the most beautiful color in the series!

Good watch, in sports measurements are accurate in 90% of cases except for step counting and sleep tracking which are all over the place, something I find unacceptable for the money, also bad that it doesn't have a Greek menu and also very poor that the Suunto environment is far behind in comparison to the competition (the Suunto app is very poor in terms of prices and information and also very bad in terms of synchronization, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, now I have been a week where everything was fine, suddenly it doesn't synchronize, conclusion Suunto needs a lot of work to reach Garmin)

Guys, the watch is very good! However, I noticed something because of a friend who was counting steps. He had a pedometer worth 30 euros while I had the Suunto 9 worth 499 euros. My watch would increase by 2-3 steps with each movement of my hand, while his wouldn't count steps if he wasn't walking. So far, the only negative thing I can say about the watch, which I've had for 3 months, is this. In all other aspects, it is very good and the best thing is the battery. Another downside, I think, is that the Movescount app is not very good! I combined it with a Scosche Rhythm 24 worth 99 euros, which wasn't even worth the money. It never accurately detected my heart rate because I can't wear the watch constantly due to doing crossfit. In the end, I returned it and got a Suunto chest strap. And now everything is fine!
