The heroic emperor, with his indomitable character and unyielding will, emerges at the ceremony holding the coveted golden apple, intending to offer it to the one he will choose as his life partner. He gazes ecstatically at the stunning, humble young woman, ready to offer her his heart and the most dazzling crown in the world.

Fate, however, has other plans for the Rose of the Capital. The proud Kassiani desperately flails between false dreams and unfulfilled desires, while facing the passionate hatred of Theodora, the woman who ultimately acquires the crown, but not the true love of Theophilos.

Intrigues, rivalries, and passions that lead to death will not be able to break the strong bonds that unite the devout maiden with the Porphyrogenitus. Kassiani, one of the greatest figures of our ecclesiastical poetry, ultimately seeks support and solace in her deep, unwavering faith.
