A sufficient knowledge of the physiology of each organism is a prerequisite for its successful management. In recent decades, techniques from Molecular Biology have allowed us to answer the "how" and "why" of many physiological phenomena in all organisms, including plants.

Thus, the classic "Plant Physiology" is supplemented with significant information from Molecular Physiology, which not only allows for a more comprehensive understanding of physiological phenomena but also enables the application of new knowledge in various biotechnological applications.

This book is the result of a coordinated collective effort by eight university teachers from five higher education institutions in the country to present not only our traditional knowledge but also recent research findings in this field.

Therefore, the book can be used as a teaching textbook for undergraduate and graduate students, as a source of information for researchers, biologists, and agronomists about the latest developments in Plant Physiology, and by any reader with a special interest in specific topics.
