October 1955, Kostas Gavras arrives in Paris, alone and with very little money but filled with hopes and dreams, even if vaguely defined. "To discover, to learn, was the dream within the dream," he writes.

In Greece, due to his father's political beliefs, it was forbidden for him to study. In the 65 years that followed, Gavras directed more than 20 films, collaborated with significant writers, screenwriters, actors, musicians, photographers, and film technicians, and met and conversed with the most important politicians of his time.
