They do not slip, the material on the outside is very good. They are waterproof but definitely won't work if you submerge them in water. They are not very heavy. Personally, walking in them is a bit difficult for me because of my issue, but again, I say for someone who is healthy, they will be very good. If you want to add an insole, I suggest getting a size larger to be more comfortable. I will change the insole and come back after some time to say more certain things
