      It is very hard. I was influenced by the good reviews and bought it, but even though it is thick, as soon as I lay on it and tried to do sit-ups, it felt like I was on a yoga mat... it's like a rock and it slips. I would not recommend it at all for adults or those with back and waist issues. I returned it and got a soft one.
