We tried to view Asia Minor as a unified whole, adopting a critical approach to history framed within the context of cause and effect, while remaining as faithful as possible to our fundamental principles.
The section we placed under our magnifying glass is the displacements of populations in Asia Minor. From ancient times to the present day, the East has often witnessed the violent removal of its inhabitants. We broadly examined all these cases.
Our interest is mainly directed towards the cases of displacement that occurred in the recent past. For this reason, we focused our lens more on the displacement of Greeks. Our goal was to illuminate all aspects of this event.
Our research led us to the conclusion that the displacement implemented against non-Muslim Greeks and Armenians from the early 1900s is connected, like all social phenomena, with other factors and events within the multidimensional structure and overall direction of history. In other words, the displacement was not a random event, independent of the conditions in the area and without historical background. Quite the opposite occurred. It was related to the conditions of the time, and it had a rich historical background.
