Roza Eskenazy was a great performer of rebetiko music, with a significant career and a rich discography that included not only rebetiko songs but also a large number of traditional ones.
This edition is a critical study that includes a total of forty scores: twenty scores from the rebetiko repertoire of the pre-war period (1931-1937) and twenty from the traditional repertoire, which are divided into ten pre-war (1933-1938) and ten post-war (1954-1955).
Each song is accompanied by a second score that includes variations of the melody as interpreted by the artist. The conclusions drawn from this recording relate to the voice, technique, interpretation, and development of the artist over the 25 years covered by the study.
