Description

The G502 HERO features an advanced optical sensor for maximum tracking accuracy, customizable RGB lighting, custom game profiles, sensitivity adjustable from 100 to 16,000 DPI, and repositionable weights.

HERO 16K Sensor

The HERO sensor is the most accurate gaming sensor we have ever built, with next-generation precision and a new architecture. With the fastest frame rate processing, the HERO sensor delivers 400+ IPS across the entire 100 - 16,000 DPI range, with zero smoothing, filtering, or acceleration. The HERO sensor achieves competition-level accuracy and the most consistent responsiveness you have ever seen. Don't forget to customize and set the DPI settings with the Logitech G HUB.

Instant access to controls

11 programmable buttons

Use Logitech G HUB to program your favorite commands and macros to each of the 11 buttons. Build, crouch, attack, heal… your most powerful moves at your fingertips. Save ready-to-use profiles directly to the mouse to take your settings with you anywhere.

Instant DPI Switching

Switch up and down through up to five DPI settings with a single click. Three DPI indicator lights let you know which setting is active. Customize these DPI settings with Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) or use the default settings that are already available.

DPI Switch Button

Gain even more control in the game, with quick DPI switching between high and low sensitivity. Conveniently located on the left side of the mouse, hold down the aiming button to quickly switch to sniper precision aiming. Customize the sensitivity for DPI switching in G HUB or change the setting to perform an entirely different function.

Internal Memory

Use Logitech G HUB to save your settings to the mouse's onboard memory and take them with you. Your saved settings will be available on any computer without requiring additional software or making a connection.

Dual-mode hyper-fast scroll wheel

Unlock the scroll wheel for hyper-fast continuous scrolling, to quickly navigate long pages, or lock it for precise click-to-click scrolling. The heavy, metal wheel provides confident, smooth, and exceptional feeling control in either mode.

Adjustable Weight

Adjust the feel and movement of the mouse with precision, gaining the advantage. The G502 HERO comes with five 3.6-gram weights, allowing you to configure a variety of weight settings front, back, left, right, and center. Experiment with alignment and balance to find the ideal spot to optimize your gaming performance.

Lightsync RGB

LIGHTSYNC technology is the next-generation RGB system that can be driven by games, audio, or your screen to deliver the most immersive RGB experience ever. Choose from a full spectrum of approximately 16.8 million colors and synchronize lighting animations and effects with other Logitech G devices. Customize it quickly and easily using Logitech G HUB.

Details specifically for gaming

In addition to the basic performance and customization features, many details were conceived and designed with care. Main buttons with mechanical switches rated for 50 million clicks, side grips with rubber coating, magnetic port for the weight placement area, and more.

Review after 1 year of use exactly.
The best mouse you can buy. I really haven't found a single flaw or something that I don't personally like about this mouse. Let's go into detail:
- The build quality is truly incredible. I've had the mouse for 1 year with heavy use, 3-4 hours or more daily, and it still feels like new. The rubber grips on the sides haven't worn out at all and still have their texture.
- It fits perfectly in the hand. Personally, I have relatively small palms for a man, but it still feels perfect, just the way I would want it. If you have large or heavy hands, I believe it will fit even better. The dimensions of the mouse are height: 132 mm, width: 75mm, depth: 40 mm. Overall, it's quite large and covers the entire palm. If you are someone who holds the mouse with your fingers bent upwards, then you won't have a problem because the side grips are very large.
- The sensor is of very high quality, offering 400+ IPS across the entire range of 100 - 16,000 DPI, with zero smoothing, filtering, or acceleration. Personally, I play at 800 dpi. It also works even on a glass desk without a mousepad, which I found incredible at first. From the ghub program, the dpi can go up to 25,600. I don't see the reason for needing this feature, I'm just mentioning it. The maximum acceleration is > 40 G according to Logitech.
- The report rate can be set up to the funny number of 125 reports per second through ghub if you are very demanding, especially in FPS games. Personally, I have left it at 1000 because I don't play FPS games that much where this feature is particularly useful (you can set it to 1000-500-250-125).
- The 11 buttons it has are fully programmable, not just for games. For example, I have set one of the side buttons to open a new tab in Chrome and the other to go to the desktop. Also, when I have a specific program open, the buttons change functionality based on the program if you have set them up that way. For example, when I open Blender, I have set one button to switch to rendered view, etc., while I have set the scroll wheel to change the orientation on the y-axis of the object when I scroll it to the right. If you play FPS games like Warzone, which have many weapons and sometimes require very low dpi for accuracy, it has a button on the thumb that, when pressed, lowers the dpi to 400 (which is what I have set, but you can set it to 100 if you want), so when the enemy is far away, you can have great accuracy. At first, I thought I wouldn't use such gimmicks, but I actually really like it as a feature. The main buttons, i.e., the clicks and the scroll wheel, are rated for 50 million clicks.
- The scroll wheel has a button that allows you to release it to scroll freely, and if you have a huge document with code, it is very easy to quickly go to the line you want. I wouldn't say I use it that much for the web, but it can be useful for you. Also, I have set it so that when I press it to the left, it goes to the right tab of the code or the tab in Chrome, and vice versa.
- The package includes five 3.6-gram weights, allowing you to adjust the weight of the mouse to your liking, forward, backward, left, right, and center. It's already very good without any weights, but if you want it a bit more sturdy, I would recommend putting them on the right and left. Without weights, the mouse weighs a satisfactory 121 grams. And I say satisfactory because other mice don't even have a button and weigh 110 grams. However, it is not the lightest mouse out there, and that's why it is recommended for professional use. Personally, the weight seems just right to me.
-Logitech claims that the feet on the Logitech G240 mousepad can withstand over 250 kilometers. I don't know how many I've done, but I don't use a mousepad and the feet haven't worn out significantly, they just lost a bit of their texture since I got it. I plan on getting a mousepad soon so they don't wear out. I would recommend getting a mousepad along with the purchase to prevent them from losing their texture. (Not that anything has changed, but still)
-The cable is made of fabric fibers and has a strap to tie it somewhere if you want. It hasn't had any issues so far. The cable is about 2.10 meters long. Overall, it doesn't tangle and doesn't exert force on the mouse when it's at an angle.
-For lighting, you can set a different logo color and a different color for the lines that indicate the DPI level you're on. I set it up so that when all 3 lines are lit, I'm at 800 DPI, which I usually use to make it look nice. You can also add various effects, have it respond to sound intensity, or take on the color of a specific part of the screen that you define. Overall, it's very beautiful and as it should be. Some games work with the mouse and change the lighting automatically depending on what you're doing in the game. For example, in Overwatch, if you choose Genji, it turns green, and in Factorio, it turns orange. If you want, you can turn it off completely or set it to turn on only when playing specific games or programs. If you're AFK for a while (I haven't figured out how long), it turns off on its own and turns back on when you move the mouse.
-I haven't encountered any problems with the ghub software, and I really like it. It's user-friendly and easy to learn. If you don't want it running constantly on your PC, you can save your settings in the mouse's onboard memory and completely close it. That way, you only open it if you want to change something later. Personally, I have it open. If you plug the mouse into another PC, it retains the settings even if the PC doesn't have ghub installed. Its memory can store 5 profiles. I use 2, one for regular use and one for FPS games where I've set it to increase the report rate and slightly lower the DPI. If you have any issues with the software, simply save the settings to the onboard memory, and you're good to go. Although personally, installation went smoothly, and I've installed it 2-3 times due to formatting, and nothing has gone wrong, at least for me.
-Now, as for noise, the mouse generally doesn't belong to the quiet category. The clicks have a very nice feel and I would say they are very clicky. It's a bit on the noisy side, meaning it has that characteristic click noise, although it can't be heard beyond about 5-8 meters, so it's not audible in the next room, obviously. However, if your PC is right next to someone who is sleeping and you spam click like crazy, it will likely bother them. The scroll wheel also makes some noise when it's not free, although its sound is a bit deeper, but when it's free, it's completely silent. Overall, if you're looking for something generally quiet, this is definitely not it.
-It works fine on consoles, although Logitech doesn't officially declare it. Anyway, if you set the settings on the PC through ghub and save them on the mouse, it keeps them on the console. Now, what happens with the report rate on consoles, I have no idea.
- If you don't pay attention to it, like all mice, it can collect some dust in the grooves and feet. It cleans perfectly with a brush or brush anyway.
If something comes up in the future, I will update the review.
At the price it is, buy it without hesitation, guys, don't even think about it.

Update 25/5/2021
The mouse is still like new, it has not had any problems at all so far. The new update on Logitech G HUB has made macro creation very easy, and you can also set timers if you want and assign the macros to the default mouse buttons. I consider it a very useful feature.

Update 17/2022
The mouse is still functioning flawlessly and I am very satisfied. The clicks are the same, nothing has changed since I got it, and I haven't encountered any problems. There have been some updates on ghub mainly aimed at fixing bugs, but nothing new has been added for the mouse, it runs perfectly.

I have been the owner of this specific mouse since 2019. I decided to buy the same one again since I was very satisfied with it. To my great surprise, I found out that the material of the mouse cable has changed to low-quality plastic (see photo - new on the left/old on the right). This specific plastic wears out with use, resulting in the cable breaking and the mouse being thrown away in 1-2 years. If I had noticed this, I would have definitely bought the wireless one!

    WITH EYES CLOSED!
I bought it after 2 years of using the Razer Deathadder, which only left me disappointed.
    Ergonomics:
It is exactly as I remember it from the first time I encountered it... the most comfortable thing your hand can touch (yes, even if you have large hands like me). In terms of ergonomics, it is excellent; personally, I use all the weights it comes with because it suits me.

In terms of buttons and software:
You can configure each button very easily through its software, which as an editor (whether you work with photos or videos) makes your life easier. And for gamers, yes, you can set the DPI of each speed EXACTLY, they are not strictly preset-programmed.

If I have to add something negative, the only thing I have to say is the cable—I would have preferred it to be fabric and not plastic.
Other than that, at the price of 35 euros, it is perhaps the best mouse you will find

The most value for money. I was searching for two days to buy a mouse and this was the best choice. As someone else said, just protect the cable at the starting and ending points because those are the only spots that can get damaged.

It's a pity, I would give it 5 but I don't like the scroller at all, it seems a bit kitsch to me. On one hand, it has no resistance at all and spins endlessly, making scrolling a pain, and on the other hand, it has excessive resistance and noise, which makes it tiring. If it had the scroller of the G302 and a slightly lower profile, it would be the perfect mouse. Other than that, it's a quality build, as are its switches. However, I would like a braided cable for a 40 euro mouse. I keep it as a backup but I'm thinking of giving it a second chance.

I got it as a second mouse and for the use I want it for, it’s just fine. It’s comfortable in the hand and quite accurate, especially for gaming but also for simple use.

The buttons are enough and convenient, while the DPI is easily adjustable. The RGB is a nice extra but not something I particularly care about.

As a main mouse I might look for something lighter, but as a second mouse it does its job without issue.

    Overall, honest for its price

Impeccable, just like the older G502.
However, it doesn't have a braided cable, which is relatively thin. It needs care. Also, its click is a bit crisper and louder. I would prefer it to be softer, but it's fine anyway. It doesn't bother.

Its strong point is the ability to adjust its weight. By default, it is a lightweight mouse of very decent quality.
On the downside, users with large fingers like me very often accidentally press the side buttons.
In gaming conditions, this leads to comical situations.
The company's software is minimalistic, simple, and practical.

My husband has had it for over 3 years and I definitely wanted the same one too. It is a relatively heavy mouse and can become even heavier with the weights it has, which are easy to install. For me, it is ideal because I like heavy mice, they help me aim with precision. It is durable, has a button to change dpi, some G buttons which are placed in spots where you can easily press them when you want, and you can also set what they do through the Logitech app. You can also create game profiles where in each game the G buttons do something different. Through the app, you can also set the color and the speed at which a G light on the mouse will change or blink. Its scroll wheel also has a button that allows it to scroll without making a click sound per scroll, as if it scrolls without stopping. Finally, it has an ergonomic shape, very comfortable in the hand.

This review is about a variation of the product

LOGITECH had sent me exactly the same model as a replacement for the legendary G500 that had given up the ghost. That G502 Hero lasted for over 10 years. And it still works perfectly, albeit with the expected wear and tear, which is why I decided to buy its replacement in time.

This model has exactly the same name (G502 Hero) but comes with significant differences from my old one. Firstly, the cable is not only 30% shorter and thinner, but it is also made of plain plastic, without the woolen coating like the old one. Additionally, the scroll wheel is made of lighter plastic and even with slow scrolling, a little more force throws you to the end of the page.

Otherwise, however, it has exactly the same size and ergonomics, while offering the ability to reprogram the functions of each button.

The mouse is perfect, the sensor is at 25000. The only annoying thing is that it makes noise when clicking and when turning the wheel if it's not free. Other than that, it's perfect for gaming and office work. Lots of customization and options through Logitech's software that covers every need. Bought from China on sale for 18 euros.

After a total of 5 years with two Mice on 2 different PCs and quite a bit of rough handling on one, now the left click has started to act up outside of games every now and then.

The main issue I think is the Scroll, since on both, after a while, it presses itself at intervals and it's a bit annoying. Personally negligible for me since it is fixed with a left click.

Other than that, a very good Mouse for the 70 euros I paid back then.

Very good for its price. I like that it is large and the hand rests comfortably. Its weight as it is on its own seems perfect to me, but the fact that it comes with weights is a big bonus for those who want to customize it.
