By developing and enriching the foundational ideas of K. Marx and F. Engels about the proletarian party, V. I. Lenin created for the first time in the history of Marxism a harmonious and comprehensive doctrine for the Communist Party - the party of a new type, characterized as the party of socialist revolution and dictatorship of the proletariat, of building socialism and communism.

In formulating the doctrine for the proletarian party, V. I. Lenin took into account the significant experience of the revolutionary movement in Russia and other countries around the world.
