I bought it on 27/6.
I took care of it so much as if it wasn't durable and waterproof.
In my inflatable traveling with 4bf, water spray entered and it got wet. (I had it in a suitcase on the floor).
After 2 hours at the tavern, I see it smoking from the charging port! I immediately shut it down while the battery was boiling. The charging port is green.
The phone works fine but it no longer charges. So it's useless for IP69K (!!!) and mil-std-810g (!!!) resistance to rain, salt, water, moisture, etc.
For the record, my Lenovo K6 got wet exactly the same way (because I didn't put it in a waterproof case) and it still works and charges normally without being IP69K or even IP68.
I got the BV6800 so that I wouldn't need to use a case, but it actually needs it more than the Lenovo!
The problem with the BV6800 PRO is that the charging port doesn't seal like, let's say, CAT phones or others that have a rubber cover on the port.
I noticed it from the beginning, but I imagined that the port would be made of some alloy that wouldn't oxidize. Like, for example, SS316.
No Blackview, as far as I searched, seals properly, so whoever wants a waterproof phone is not covered by Blackview.
Maybe in the future, but not right now.
It's a shame because if they had paid attention to this detail, the phone (at least for me) was exactly what I wanted.
It's a shame for such negligence to be its Achilles' heel.
Honestly, I don't know what the person who designed it and the person who approved it for production with IP69K characteristics were thinking!!!! The highest waterproof rating and mil-std-810g resistance to salt, etc...
THE WORST PART IS,
THE POSITION OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THE STORE (yellow store) WHERE I MADE THE PURCHASE,
THAT IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY WHEN IT GETS WET (!!!!!!) listen, listen! WHEN IT GETS WET!!!!
And I say it again. Not IP67 or IP68 or IP69.
IP69K!!!!!
"The difference between IP69 and IP69K
Posted on January 5, 2018 by Peter Jolles
We are presented with a request for quote for IP69K testing on a regular basis at F2 Labs. Usually my first reply to the customer is this, "Do you mean IP69 or IP69K?" Believe it or not, there is a difference and it is an important distinction. This article will explain.
Before we get into the details, the most general distinction is that IP69 testing is for equipment, like control panels or electrical equipment that is installed in areas that get washed (pharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial food packaging), and IP69K is for equipment installed on road vehicles. And the IP69K testing is meant to validate that the equipment installed in road vehicles can withstand very severe wash-downs with pressure washers.
IP69 is the IP (ingress protection) code for a very high level of protection as indicated in IEC 60529 – Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP code).
IP69K is the IP code for a very high level of protection as indicated in ISO 20653 – Road vehicles – Degress of protection (IP code) – Protection of electrical equipment against foreign objects, water and access."
Of course, now the consumer protection and my legal protection have the reason, which has saved me many times from cunning sellers and all kinds of scammers who offer inadequate services.
It's a shame that Blackview troubles so many people who relied on these inadequate characteristics of its models.
