I have been blessed by God to visit the Holy Land and Sinai repeatedly. The abundance of my love and respect for their sacred lands, as well as my honor for the steadfast guardians of the spiritual borders of Hellenism, for the Holy Sepulchre Fathers and Sinai Fathers, I hasten to express in the following pages.

The book is adorned with the wonderful colored lithographs by David Roberts (1796-1864) derived from his three-volume journey through the Holy Land, Syria, Egypt, Idumea, and Nubia (1842-1849). These lithographs also serve as testimonies to the significant monuments that bear the influence of Greek culture (Baalbec, Petra, etc.).

In this way, we believe that we are making a substantial contribution to the celebration of the Jubilee of the Two Millennia, with the wish that the book will spark the interest of readers to visit these remarkable places that hold such a close bond with our Nation.
