We tried to keep the first edition concise. C is not a large language, and it is not well served by a large book. We have improved the presentation of critical features, such as pointers, which are essential for PC programming. We have enhanced the initial examples and added new ones in several chapters. For instance, handling complex declarations is reinforced with programs that convert declarations into words, and vice versa. As before, all examples were tested directly from the text.
