The events from the summer of 428 to the winter of 426/5 BC. The focus is on five major centers: the northeastern Aegean, Boeotia, Western Greece, Corfu, and Sicily.

The events concern the revolt of Lesbos and specifically the defection of Mytilene from the Athenians in 428 BC, the continuation of the siege of Plataea (winter of 428/7 BC), the major uprising of the city of Corfu, the first Athenian campaign in Sicily in the summer of 426 BC, as well as the two major campaigns, one of the Athenians in Aetolia (summer of 426 BC) and one of the Peloponnesians in Acarnians.
