This first issue presents the world as seen through the eyes of children, thanks to two successful films by two great directors: Gabriele Salvatores and Gianni Amelio.

The Cinema Italia series aims to enhance and enrich the linguistic and lexical skills of Italian LS/L2 students through a detailed analysis of films from our great classical and contemporary repertoire. Each issue focuses on a theme that connects the two selected films.

• Each issue presents a film sheet and information about the director.
• Includes rich and motivating educational activities.
• Proposes three sections for each film: before, during, and after viewing.
• Offers a wide range of activities for comprehension, listening, writing, and sociocultural content.
• Provides ample discussion prompts and additional teaching paths to explore the themes of the films in depth.
• Presents the keys to the activities, with thorough comments on the films, for use in self-study as well.
