Telling the Twentieth Century is aimed at intermediate to advanced Italian language students (B2, C1, C2 of the European Framework). This book provides numerous linguistic and cultural stimuli that develop the student's creativity and includes literary texts for the exploration of the language and selected authors, such as Buzzati, Calvino, Ginzburg, and Moravia. Four stories have been selected for each author, among those that are most engaging and representative of their style.

The learning units are structured uniformly and include a glossary, comprehension activities, and narratological and linguistic reflections. The final section is dedicated to productive activities, both written and oral. Furthermore, Telling the Twentieth Century is complemented by the Teacher's Book, which contains keys and valuable stylistic and linguistic reflections.
