A significant burden of anti-communist and anti-socialist propaganda falls on the issue of the supposed lack of 'freedom and democracy' during the construction of the new society, socialism-communism. At the center of the attack is the revolutionary workers' power, the state of the working class, the dictatorship of the proletariat, and the role of the Communist Party. The capitalists do not tolerate, and tremble at the idea, that the working class could organize itself as the ruling class and that they themselves would be relegated to the dustbin of history.
In the second part of the KKE's edition 'Truths and Lies about Socialism' that you hold in your hands, we strive as much as possible in a small edition to present general principles regarding the dictatorship of the proletariat, to respond to lies and distortions of the truth, and to provide evidence from the reality in the countries where socialism was constructed in the 20th century. This part consists of the following chapters:
1. The false dilemma of 'democracy or totalitarianism'
2. Dictatorship of the proletariat: a higher form of democracy
3. Dictatorship of the Proletariat or 'Dictatorship of the Party'?
4. 'Is there freedom in socialism?';
The third and final part of the edition will be released in the coming months and will address issues of distortion of the history of socialist construction in the 20th century.
