Pandelis is a poor zoo employee tasked with cleaning the cages, and the lion is an intelligent, thoughtful, and politically aware lion. A lion who is suffocating behind bars and desperately seeks its freedom. To gain it, he needs the help of Pandelis, which the salaried and responsibility-averse employee refuses to provide.
The lion uses all means to convince him - from sober dialogue to a heartbreaking melodrama. Always, of course, within the limits of prudence and moderation, because he does not believe in violence. In contrast, his wild neighbor, the panther, proclaims that the peaceful path to liberation is a utopia.
With him and many other animals in the zoo, the lion opens lively discussions about exploitation, resistance, and activist practices.
