Professor Lambros Kotsiris, with his new book European Commercial Law I, provides an extremely valuable tool to Greek theory and practice, which systematically explores commercial law in its European dimension, the first in Greek legal literature. The book, based on primary and derivative community law as well as the case law of the Court and the Court of First Instance of the European Communities, deals with the basic issues and principles governing the community legal order as well as fundamental freedoms, in order to delve into competition law (rules, subsidies, monopolies, concentrations, application of competition rules), community law on industrial property, specifically community law on trademarks and community trademarks, patent law, designs and models, and community law on intellectual property.
The arrangement and processing of the material enhances the transparency and systematic nature of the correlations of the provisions of the Treaty, informs, updates their interpretation by the community courts and provides knowledge through practical approach, while at the same time justifying the teaching perception through examples and their significance. Thus, the possibility of shaping a "European Commercial Law" is provided, which is particularly necessary for the deepening of commercial law.
