Nikos Lakais has felt an irresistible attraction since his early high school years to the multifaceted personality of Thales of Miletus. This begins when he first hears about the great philosopher’s achievement of finding, without measuring it, the height of the tallest pyramid in the world, that of Pharaoh Cheops in Giza, Egypt.

His passion to learn about the Ionian envelops him throughout his student life and beyond. The imagination of a modern, restless spirit is allowed to tread the paths of the life and actions of the great ancient man, forming with tiles gathered from very old times the mosaic of Thales' journey on earth, from the founding of the Ionian School until his death.
