Suena 4 is intended for students with a high level of Spanish. It aims to develop in the learner the communicative competence that allows them to differentiate linguistic uses and select the most appropriate one at any given moment, according to factors such as the speaker's intention, the linguistic and extralinguistic context, or the characteristics of the interlocutors.

It consists of 10 lessons, divided into independent sections that facilitate the student's knowledge of specific uses and rules. These sections correspond to grammar (Rules and norms), vocabulary (Words, words), conversation and nocio-functional contents (Bla, bla, bla), and, finally, writing (Take note) and phonetics (Sounds good).

The grammatical information is presented in a fragmented manner on cards, followed by a block of activities where the contents in question are worked on; in other cases, performing certain activities allows the student to inductively discover the grammatical rule that is intended to be taught.

At the end of each lesson, there is a section called Ways of Living, dedicated to informative topics on various issues, and a Recap. The manual concludes with a Glossary translated into five languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese (with the Brazilian variant). Proverbs, taboo terms, and Americanisms are not translated.

As support material, two audio CDs are offered with the recordings of the activities. Suena 4 corresponds to level C1 of the Framework.
