Description

Today, in an era where nature, so praised by Alexandros Papadiamantis, has abandoned man to the mercy of loneliness and his self-destructive mania, where life is no longer unique and irreplaceable, and death has been trivialized, The Murderess is an ark, one of the few that remain, for man to find solace and to remember the true value and his real purpose: the realization of love.

Alexandros Papadiamantis, like his equal Georgios Vizyenos, did not hesitate to stain his literary hands with the most unspeakable and profane blood. And by doing so, he forever opened the gates of the reading paradise.

Hadoula, called Fragissa, or Fragkogiannou, was a woman almost sixty years old, well-built, with strong features, a masculine character, and two small mustache tips above her lips. In her thoughts, summarizing her whole life, she saw that she had never done anything but serve others. When she was a girl, she served her parents. When she married, she became a slave to her husband — and yet, due to her character and his weakness, she was also his guardian; when she had children, she became a servant to her children; when her children had children, she again became a servant to her grandchildren.
