This work, therefore, primarily aims to investigate, with as much accuracy as possible, the qualitative characteristics of the differentiation that the social role of the information system has undergone under the influence of new information technologies.

It also aims, and this is particularly important, to identify, based on real data and not future predictions, the trends that are emerging regarding the future shaping of this field.

The ultimate goal of the work is to synthesize this data into a comprehensive operational model of the entire information system and to describe its functional structure and characteristics.
