This book deals with an old but timely topic related to the education of philologists, which has been of great concern, especially in recent years, to the academic and educational community in the Greek area. It consists of two parts: In the first part, the theoretical approach to the issue is made, discussing the legal framework of the operation of the School of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Study Programs from 1984 to the present, and the opinions of various bodies and scientists on the subject under discussion. In the second part, the issue of the education of philologists is explored from the perspective of students of Greek-language Departments of the School of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and philologists who practice their profession in secondary education schools. The work concludes with findings that can be useful to those in charge of educational policy, as well as to all those involved in the educational process.
