This work contains the presentations from the Conference: "Law and Competition Policy in the EU - Developments and Priorities," which took place in Athens on April 19, 2002, under the auspices of the Hellenic Competition Commission.

Presentations are provided by members of EU bodies, such as Mr. M. Monti, who discussed "priorities in EU competition policy," and G. Tesauro, who analyzed the "theory of essential facilities" in European competition law, as well as other representative members from the competition authorities of European countries.

The topics analyzed include the relationship between e-commerce and competition (U. Boge), the relationship of pharmaceuticals with competition (F. Jenny), and the policy on merger control (G. Katsoulakos, R. Whish).
