  • Type

    Wide Angle

Wide-angle lenses with optics that allow for fitting many elements within the frame with relatively little distortion. Their focal distance is usually 24-35mm for full-frame, 15-25mm for crop frame, and 50-70mm for medium format. They are commonly used in street photography but also in indoor spaces where there is limited distance from the subject. The perspective of wide-angle lenses makes things appear farther apart than they actually are.

    Macro

The lens has a macro function for photographing subjects from very close distances.

  • Mount

The type of mount that the camera body must have in order for the lens to be fully functional when attached to it.

  • Item

Lenses with variable optical (zoom) that remain equally bright (same maximum aperture value) throughout the entire focal distance range they offer. Usually significantly more expensive than their variable aperture counterparts.

    Fixed Focal Length

Lenses with fixed optics are usually of higher quality than a corresponding zoom lens at the same focal distance. They are also called "fixed" or "prime" lenses.

    Crop Frame

Lenses designed for use on cameras with a crop frame sensor (smaller frame).

  • Maximum Aperture (f)

Opening the diaphragm determines the amount of light received by the camera and affects the depth of field.

Description

The Laowa VE2414N by Venus Optics is a revolutionary Full Frame Macro lens with a Nikon F mount suitable for photographic or cinematic use. Thanks to its unique design, large aperture, ability to focus at 2cm (from its front element), and wide-angle (24mm) focal length, it allows you to get extremely close to hard-to-reach subjects while still capturing ample background information.

Key factors contributing to the lens's remarkable versatility include:

  • The waterproof construction of its front elements.
  • The built-in LED light powered via a micro USB port.

Unique Probe Design & Wide-Angle Perspective

The lens features an unusual probe-style design, with a front section just 2cm in diameter and a length of 40.8cm, allowing it to reach into extremely narrow or hard-to-access spaces. Unlike traditional macro lenses, its 24mm focal length offers a wide 85° viewing angle while retaining rich background detail.

Exceptional Macro Capabilities & LED Lighting

It offers a maximum magnification of 2.0x with a minimum working distance of just 2cm from the front element. To reduce shadows in such close-up shots, it features a built-in LED light at the tip, powered via a micro USB port.

Optical Construction & Waterproof Protection

The internal structure consists of 27 elements in 19 groups, including two extra-low-dispersion elements and one refractive-index element to eliminate chromatic and circular aberrations. The front section is waterproof, allowing you to shoot safely in wet or dusty conditions.
