I have been using it for the last 3 years and I am very satisfied.
Let's start with the basics:
1) Heating:
The space where we live is a two-room studio of 45 sq.m.
With normal winter cold (for Ioannina), it makes staying in the space bearable when the intermediate door between the living room-kitchen and bedroom is open, but if we isolate the bedroom or the living room-kitchen, then it heats satisfactorily. So its use is recommended for small spaces up to 25 sq.m.
2) Consumption:
With usage of 3 hours in the morning (7 to 10) and another 5 in the afternoon-evening (7 to 12), totaling 8 hours a day, and the flame protruding about 1 centimeter from the tray, it consumes a 20-liter tank approximately every 20 days.
3) Dimensions and portability:
Small dimensions, about the size of a small dehumidifier and quite light, even when full, so that an average adult (man or woman) can lift and carry it carefully.
4) Smell:
We use the cheapest genuine fuel, Kerosun Extra (with the red cap), and during operation, it does not smell at all inside the space. Of course, we light it and extinguish it on the balcony because lighting and extinguishing it leaves a very strong smell.
5) Maintenance cost:
The cost of changing the wick, which depending on usage must be done every 1-2 years, is around 45 euros. It does not require a connection to a power supply, but it takes 4 large batteries for the electronic ignition, which usually need to be replaced every 1-2 years, so the annual maintenance cost is between 25 and 50 euros, depending on usage.
6) Miscellaneous:
- It can be used even during a power outage, and its flame gives a very sweet feeling to the space and makes it unnecessary to turn on other lighting if there is no reason, thus making a relative saving on electricity.
- It automatically extinguishes if moved with moderate force, so care is needed when moving it, and I generally do not recommend it if you have small children or pets.
- It is good to put it back indoors after extinguishing it and the smell dissipates to protect it from moisture and cold, which affect combustion (cold fuel is less efficient) and the lifespan of the wick.
- During its use, we make sure to leave a window open 1-2 millimeters to allow oxygen into the space and we try to ventilate the house daily between the morning and evening lighting so that any harmful substances can escape. We do the same when we are about to extinguish it before going to sleep: we leave the balcony door open for 2-3 minutes and then take it outside and extinguish it, so that the space can be better oxygenated.
- It lost the fifth star due to the high costs of maintenance (filter change) and fuel. According to the Kerosun website, there is also the option to buy fuel with an exchangeable canister, which costs about 8€ less per 20 liters than single-use canisters (December 2024: 42.90€ for single-use versus 34.20€ for exchangeable), but only for those living in Athens.

It is a good oil stove. It comfortably heats up to 30 square meters. It does not smell if you follow the manufacturer's instructions and don't do your own thing. Unfortunately, many people buy them and use any kind of oil and also extinguish them abruptly, resulting in odors and other complaints. In my opinion, it heats better than an electric heater. The heat is distributed better and it also produces a little light. As for economy, electricity and oil prices are so volatile that sometimes it is cheaper and sometimes more expensive. There are not significant differences, however, it offers the advantage that its cost is easily predictable unlike electricity, where things change and other costs arise in between. Even the slightest difference in electricity consumption can skyrocket the bill even if you are within limits. Therefore, comparing the cost per kWh and the cost per liter of oil is a bit misleading. It burns about 0.3 liters per hour.
Someone who knows they specifically want an oil stove will buy it. It is practical for areas with frequent power outages, small apartments, or apartments without functional heating systems where it is impractical to heat with electricity. It heats well and quickly through radiation, not hot air like an air conditioner. Therefore, you only use energy to raise the temperature, not to distribute it in the space. Knowledge of managing mineral fuels is required. It is perfect for areas with really cold weather, areas with frequent power outages, and as a backup solution for people with health problems who should not stay in the cold if something goes wrong. In times of need, you can also heat a little water as advertised. The biggest advantage is the predictability of consumption and the fact that oil can be stored for emergencies, while with an electric heater you cannot do something similar. So, if you truly know why you are buying it, it is the best option.

Excellent kerosene heater. Durable and economical (rainbow gf), the six liters of kerosene burn for about twenty-eight hours, meaning longer burning time than what the official representative claims, provided that the wick is adjusted so that the flame exits the metal disc by one centimeter or less. I bought and tested it on 24_03_2021 in a seaside country house. From the 10 degrees Celsius that the house had, with the help of an old 9 btu air conditioner, it maintained a steady temperature of 20 degrees Celsius for five days, burning continuously with a daily interruption of about two hours. I wasn't bothered by the slight smell, perhaps due to small losses from the windows. I would light it, extinguish it, and refill it on the balcony. As the representative also states, it is not suitable for primary heating purposes. I bought it as an alternative heating solution after the extensive, multi-day power outages this year in Attica. CAUTION!!! It requires STRICT adherence to the instructions of the parent company. It is advisable to consume the entire quantity of fuel and not store it for the next winter because the ingredients it contains will deteriorate, resulting in less efficient burning. It burns the extra kerosene from Kerosun and not the Crystal 1. I will definitely purchase the omni 230 gef model as well to cover emergency heating needs for a 100 sqm house. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it as a supplementary heating source in case of power outages.

It heats well and relatively quickly spaces of 15-20 square meters. As mentioned, it can heat a space as much as an air conditioner with 7848 BTU, which corresponds to the 2.3kw provided by the Kerosun manufacturer. In a 25 or 30 square meter space, it will break the cold, but you can't say that it will be able to heat the space satisfactorily. You get the heater for specific situations, and this is the biggest mistake people make. You buy it, for example, for areas with frequent power outages or because it is easily portable from one place to another, for specific spaces or for spaces without power supply. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you get it for economy. For maximum energy efficiency and continuous use, the answer is one - without discussion. A branded Inverter a/c.
The heater burns (roughly) €0.5/hour, which is not at all little.
If you turn it on and off outside the house, it doesn't smell at all, and in fact, the quality of the heat it produces resembles the warmth of radiators. Disadvantage - the temperature cannot be adjusted - it produces whatever it produces.
It is a very well-made construction (Made in Japan, please!) and requires almost zero maintenance (changing the wick every 2 or even more years, depending on the burning hours. Cost approximately €22).
P.S. I give it 5 stars for what it is, a heater as a heater. For what the majority would like it to be and buys it thinking that it is... I would give it a heavy 2.

I can say that it is actually very good in terms of warmth, etc., but you definitely have to leave a window open!! After all, it says so in the instructions.. It depletes the oxygen and makes the atmosphere heavy.. With a window open 3 inches, it's okay... Still, there are some other issues, but they are manageable.. NEVER with closed windows... Zero smell if you follow the instructions. I don't know about consumption yet, I will write about it when I see it... However, BE CAREFUL with the oxygen issue... That's why until I check the consumption, I give it 4 stars.. I won't give it 5, even if it burns economically, I will leave it at 4, if it burns a lot, it will get 3... Oxygenation is a real issue..

Well, after a long time (I think two years), I have to say the following.. As for the oxygen issue, it is ultimately a matter of habit... When we had to completely close the window due to extreme cold, there was no problem.. If it's a scheduled time and someone comes from outside, the atmosphere might be a bit strange to them, but that's it... There is no trace of oil smell, just a heavy atmosphere that you get used to...
As for consumption, I won't discuss it, you have to get the refill containers from the company and not from a gas station... Otherwise, the kerosene is expensive... Unless you use fuel from a gas station, which I haven't tried...
In summary, it is a decent solution for a house no larger than 70-80 square meters MAX and as open-plan as possible..
It heats up to a very good level and is economical under certain conditions.
