Description

He had a touch with the stars, making them relax and look at the camera without fear; he somehow managed to draw out a sense of childhood or innocence, challenge or genius from within them that cannot be expressed in words.

I watched the stars unfold without realizing it, and it is very captivating; they don't know they are unfolding, they think they are just posing, standing in front of the background for yet another portrait without revealing anything. One would think a photographer has some mysterious relationship with those he photographs, but I believe it is somewhat like a magical mirror that differentiates the image: what George sees is not always the same as what the subject sees in the mirror, because George's mirror is a little jazz. It always has been.
