The 10 basic rules of Savoir Vivre on Facebook.
1) We always state our real name. Nicknames and diminutives reduce our credibility as individuals regarding our opinions and beliefs. It's good to subtly show our face in some photo.
2) We always write in Greek, as long as our text is addressed to Greeks, even if we know English or French very well and always with Greek characters, paying attention as much as we can to the spelling, clarity, and syntax of what we want to say and express.
3) We are careful with our words so as not to become ironic, offensive, pretentiously didactic, awkward, contentious, vulgar, or provocatively styled, especially if our profile is public, even if we feel we are right (let's not forget, our own right).
4) No more than one or two posts a day. This is the right dosage, so our friends do not get tired and do not worry about our mental health. After all, it is mathematically proven that they enjoy the first, smile at the second, and get bored at the third.
5) We do not vent all our concerns (political, moral, aesthetic, social, existential, religious, romantic, sexual...) from the position of the judge, leaving ourselves out. Those who follow us want us to illuminate their darkness while we blaze.
6) We immediately block anyone who goes against our freedom, our existence, our life, our cultural achievements, with dogmatic pretexts or excuses where logic does not absolutely prevail, without explanations, negotiations, analyzes, and especially answers.
7) We never forget that we are in a fictional space and time outside of life. Therefore, we distance ourselves from evaluations based on the number of likes, considering that they are not redeemable in any kind of market.
8) We voluntarily take breaks at regular intervals for as long as we judge necessary to ensure we are not dependent, but also to rest from the daily anxiety of "I am on fb therefore I exist!"
9) Whatever we do, whatever we live does not really interest anyone unless we transform it into a pure artistic act addressed to others, and it is those others who know well when they become mirrors of ambitions. Therefore, if we are not absolutely sure that we are playing to entertain them, let’s not stand bare before them.
10) Every once in a while, let’s take a look at the posts of others; surely there are many who have more interesting things than we do, but no one is quite like us.
