This book, which I edited, is a collective work focused on researching Makronisos. It mainly consists of a series of testimonies from fighters who experienced the horrors of that prison, along with their related political critiques.

Some believe that the history of Makronisos, to ensure its objectivity, must stop "being simply a history of heroism and victims." They argue that the history of this "specific place" represents a multifaceted reality that needs to be studied holistically and without bias.
