Description

Description

Charge controller from Victron Energy suitable for installations up to 60A at 48V. It is of the MPPT type. MPPT charge controllers determine the appropriate charging levels for batteries while providing minimal losses in their actual performance.

Compared to PWM controllers that distribute about 80% of the energy produced by the solar panel to the batteries, the remaining energy of about 20% is lost. Simple PWM charge controllers do not detect the maximum power point of the solar panel.

The smart functions of an MPPT controller regarding charging and equalization of the batteries ensure better charging and maintenance, resulting in an extended lifespan.

MPPT charge controllers are ideal for larger systems where the additional energy collection of 20% or more is worthwhile and for cases where the voltage of the solar array is significantly higher than the battery voltage, e.g., when using home panels.

    What can I say, amazing machine - I have had it for 2 years with over 4000kwh of production.
    It's a pity that people fall into the trap of the hybrid inverter which consumes itself, is noisy on the Mppt when the sun hits the panels and generally is cheaply made. I also have a 250/100 in parallel with another string of panels and I get power from everywhere, especially with partial shading from trees, etc.
    Finally, low voltage on the panels = longevity (even though prices have plummeted)
