"He left this for you," Pellman continued, pulling a small pouch from his pocket and handing it to Wulfgaar. "And he asked me to tell you that he will be waiting for you in Kalimport."
Wulfgaar held the pouch cautiously, as if expecting it to explode in his hands. "Thank you," Drizzt replied to Pellman. "We will tell our friend that you completed your mission successfully."
Pellman nodded and bowed, beginning to move away to return to his duties. Drizzt took Wulfgaar aside, away from curious glances. Seeing his friend's pallor, he took the small pouch from his hands and, with brisk movements, untied the string while keeping it as far from his face as possible.
Shrugging towards Wulfgaar, who instinctively stepped back, he lowered the pouch to his waist and looked inside. Wulfgaar approached, filled with curiosity and concern, as soon as he saw Drizzt's shoulders drop in dread. Drizzt looked at him with helpless sorrow and turned the pouch upside down, revealing its contents. A halfling's finger.
