The human tendency to know another can have various causes. Sometimes, it is the simple curiosity of an average person who longs to hear about adventures they have not lived and scandals that introduce them to the dark sides of others' lives.

At other times, it may be an unreflected critical disposition toward human mistakes, especially when the "sinners" are unknown individuals.

Finally, there is the curiosity of those who are directly concerned with the truth, a curiosity that is intertwined with the anxiety to unveil the hidden cards of another's soul or past, as these are crucial for their interpersonal relationship with that person.
