The present work is a concise history in the form of an album of the 50-year history of the University of Patras, which was founded in 1964 and began its operations in 1966.

The first section presents the prehistory before its establishment, including the pressures from local figures and the deliberations of national (governments, scientific associations) and supranational entities (OECD).

Next, the course of the institution is presented from its founding until 2014, with special reference to the areas of organization-administration, academic development (Schools - Departments), teachers - students, and building infrastructures. For each of these thematic areas, historical documentation is provided, such as institutional texts, testimonies, photographs, etc.

The last sections present all the central units of the institution, such as the Research Committee, the Central Library, the Conference and Cultural Center, the Museum of Science and Technology, the Museum of Education, and more.

At the end of the album, in the form of an appendix, information is provided about the academic profile (Schools - Departments), the administrations, the demographic composition (faculty, administrative and laboratory staff, students), the postgraduate programs, and the sponsors.
