Our well-known Saint Basil, the archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia, is one of the Three Hierarchs, distinguished by the gift of dogmatic and ascetic writing, possessing the grace of Trinitarian theology and divine contemplation, as well as the interpretation and teaching of divine scripture according to the monk Theokletus Dionysiat.
St. Basil is a multifaceted and diverse personality, as he had extensive ecclesiastical and secular education, was a monk and organizer of communal monasticism, was a bishop with a rich social and preaching work, and was also a prolific adversary of heretics.
It is necessary for people to begin to follow the example of the ascetic, monk, theologian, Saint Basil, who not only lived in a robe having distributed all his assets to the poor, but also disregarded material and earthly possessions and was concerned with heavenly and spiritual goods. Only in this way can we enter the kingdom of heaven.
