It is the 1st native lens I buy for the Z6ii. I have worked with the D750 and the Sigma 14-24 and the Nikon 14-24, as well as the Tamron 15-30, which the 14-30 is supposed to replace.
So, the lens did NOT impress me in terms of image quality in photography. You buy the lens for the 14mm and 30mm. It falls significantly short in those ranges. Around 20mm is where things are at their best. The photos were just okay, and I suppose that's what Nikon intended. In video, things look somewhat better. Overall, it's a lens that has vignetting that even with Nikon's built-in profiles in Normal mode, it didn't go away. It didn't bother me much, it's something I expected and generally doesn't bother me, but it did bother me here. None of the three lenses I have worked with had such an issue fully open.
What bothered me the most is the focus ring. In vertical videos (TikTok), it is very common for the hand to go over it and while you have a video running with eye detection, it does focus override and you lose the shot. I would like the ability to disable the focus ring since it's electronic, especially when recording. Let's also mention the good part, it is very accurate in focus with on-screen indication of how far or close it is focusing.
Who is it for?
1- For those who have the 24-70 and 70-200 as their main lenses, it is a very practical choice to give you some extra shots in a wedding, for example.
2. For those who have 2 bodies. One with the 14-30 and the other with the 24-70 or 70-200 or a good prime like an 85mm.
3. For those who will use it at f/5.6 with flash, for example, in a club event.
4. For landscape photographers.
5. For anyone who doesn't want to have weight in their bag and doesn't care about worse image quality in order to save weight and space (otherwise, the Z 14-24 is only 250gr heavier).

Είναι ο 1ος native φακός που αγοράζω για την Z6ii. Έχω δουλέψει στην D750 και τον Sigma 14-24 και τον Nikon 14-24 αλλά και τον Tamron 15-30 τον οποίο ο 14-30 καλείται να αντικαταστήσει.
Ο φακός λοιπόν ΔΕΝ με εντυπωσίασε για την ποιότητα εικόνας του στη φωτογραφία. Τον φακό τον αγοράζεις για τα 14mm και τα 30mm. Εκεί έχανε σημαντικά. Γύρω στα 20mm τα πράγματα είναι τα καλύτερα δυνατά. Οι φωτογραφίες ήταν απλά οκ και αυτό υποθέτω ότι ήθελε η Nikon. Στο βίντεο τα πράγματα δείχνουν κάπως καλύτερα. Γενικά είναι ένας φακός που έχει vigneting που ακόμα και με τα ενσωματωμένα προφιλ της Nikon στο Normal δεν έφυγε. Δεν με πείραξε ιδιαίτερα, είναι κάτι που περίμενα και δε με ενοχλεί γενικά απλά εδώ με ενόχλησε. Κανένας εκ των τριών που έχω δουλέψει δεν είχε τόσο θέμα εντελώς ανοιχτός.
Αυτό που με πείραξε περισσότερο είναι το δαχτυλίδι εστίασης. Σε βίντεο χεράτο κάθετο (TikTok) είναι πολύ σύνηθες το χέρι να πηγαίνει πάνω του και ενώ έχεις ένα βίντεο που τρέχει με eye detection να κάνει focus override και να χάνεις το πλάνο. Θα ήθελα να υπάρχει δυνατότητα απενεργοποίησης το focus ring μια και είναι ηλεκτρονικό ειδικά όταν γίνεται rec. Να λέμε και τα καλά είναι πολύ ακριβές στο focus με on-screen ένδειξη του πόσο μακριά ή κοντά εστιάζει.
Σε ποιους απευθύνεται;
1- Σε αυτούς που έχουν main τον 24-70 και 70-200 ως 3ος φακός είναι μια πολύ πρακτική επιλογή για να σας δώσει σε έναν γαμό πχ μερικές έξτρα εικόνες
2. Σε αυτούς που έχουν 2 σώματα. Το ένα 14-30 το άλλο 24-70 ή 70-200 ή κάποιον καλό prime τύπου 85mm
3. Σε αυτούς θα τον δουλέψουν στο f/5.6 με φλας πχ σε εκδήλωση τύπου club
4. Σε Landscape φωτογράφους
5. Σε όλους όσους δε θέλουν να έχουν βάρος στην τσάντα τους και δε τους ενδιαφέρει η χειρότερη ποιότητα εικόνας προκειμένου να γλυτώσουν βάρος και χώρο( αλλιώς ο Z 14-24 ειναι μόλις 250gr πιο βαρής)
