Description

Description

Papadiamantis, nearly a century after his death, remains the most discussed author since the creation of the modern Greek state.

There has not been a cultivated person in our land who has not wondered about the hidden charm of Papadiamantis' work. No generation has ignored its artistic value. And there has not been a historical period that has not been divided regarding its reach.

The reason is very simple. Papadiamantis wrote (or rather, stitched) his work with all the knots (historical, cultural, linguistic, psychic, and metaphysical) that compose us as a people. It is therefore natural that it haunts and divides us.

The fact that the divergence of opinions often reaches polar extremes proves how Papadiamantis' work lives on and follows us today in all our foundational choices.
