This work refers to the only prose piece by Plato and centers on the Apology of Socrates before the Athenian popular court of Heliaea.
It enlightens the reader on topics related to the figure of Socrates and offers a Modern Greek translation of the ancient text. The comments (grammatical, syntactical, factual, historical, philosophical, theological, etc.) address both the form (language) and the essence (content) of the "Apology" and assist in its interpretative approach.
The contribution of this work is significant, perhaps for the first time in Greek literature, for its provision of abundant and important material with biblical, ecclesiastical, and patristic references to the reader.
