I live in an area where we have many power outages for maintenance and network expansion. I got several of these units for protection. So far so good, no damage to any of my devices. In the past, I have suffered damage to 2 TVs, 3 tablets, 1 phone, and a laptop. All that belongs to the past now.

I got it to connect it to the Brennenstuhl PL772 power strip, which is extremely ergonomic, but does not have surge protection.

It seems to do the job it promises. In terms of construction (quality/color/beauty, etc.), it is quite a few steps below the equivalent APC single outlets - which have now been discontinued, and that's why their prices are sky-high (especially when comparing it to the black single outlet of APC, it's like day and night in appearance). Also, note that the maximum power of this one is 3,500w - and NOT 3,680w as the equivalent APC. However, for its price (~9€), it is an honest choice.

I use this specific adapter connected to protect devices that are not connected to surge-protected power strips, such as a refrigerator, washing machine, and television.
It is very well-made and does not overheat.
You can connect a non-surge-protected power strip, like the Brennenstuhl PowerCube (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/32719512/Brennenstuhl-PowerCube-8-THeseon-me-Diakopti-4-USB-kai-Kalodio-2m-Mayro-1153560000.html), and it will protect anything you have connected to the power strip from lightning and sudden power outages. It also seems to greatly help with interference if you use powerline networking in your home.
It is equally good, if not better, than similar adapters from APC.

Good functionality, I have installed multiple sockets with a 55" television, internet router, telephone, and LED lights. There are no issues whatsoever, I am satisfied and highly recommend it.
