The Mi 8 (2018) is obviously no longer supported, so on one hand, original spare parts are gradually becoming scarce/expensive and on the other, OEM prices are dropping. So for those who remain 'attached' to this particular phone, expectations and standards inevitably drop. With OEM parts, it's a matter of luck since they are usually manufactured in the same factories as the originals but with far fewer quality checks and rejections of defective items.

The reviewed screen was purchased for €28.5 to replace a similar OEM one (no visual difference) that I had installed a year ago when I broke the original, and while it was flawless in every other aspect, it started showing vertical colored lines (which the original never did in all those years).

Obviously, the screen is OLED, and obviously, it fits perfectly since it was made for the specific frame. In terms of brightness, colors, etc., it is flawless just like the previous OEM (which cost €50 back then), but this one (coincidentally?) has a small bug in the digitizer at the top left, where sometimes a touch is registered as a scroll down. Ok, it's annoying, but manageable so far, hence the corresponding rating (always in relation to the €28).

Would I recommend it? Yes, because even if you pay €90 (for an OEM), you'll probably receive the same screen. Do you want guaranteed quality? Then only go for the original (which means only with the frame) with everything that entails...

The purchase was made quickly and the bar was set very low.

It is MUCH more than okay, and I am very lucky to have found it at its price (40€). I did not encounter any problems while changing the screen. The packaging is okay.

It's just like the original, everything is normal, it's amoled. You can still enable the always on display. It was purchased for 75 €, if you find it for under 80€ just buy it

Although I didn't expect it, it's wonderful, indeed amoled and a simple advice, buyers IMMEDIATELY buy a protective case, I am one of the unlucky ones who cracked the glass, I took it off and the next day it cracked again, luckily it still works but I will order another one soon from here though!!!
