The Synodical Committee of Divine Worship and Pastoral Work kindly suggested the publication by the Apostolic Ministry of the Church of Greece, in the series Logical Worship, of a volume containing twelve studies by the undersigned that concern ritual topics. I sincerely thank His Beatitude the Archbishop, the Most Reverend President, and the Honorable members of the Committee.
These twelve studies primarily consist of presentations at an equal number of Conferences, which have been expanded and underwent necessary processing and supplementation after their delivery, and included several of the topics and issues raised during the subsequent discussions. None of these fully covers or exhaustively addresses the topic it proposes.
And this is very natural and expected due to the breadth of the individual topics; it was likely to happen since during the subsequent processing, an effort was made not to alter the structure of the oral presentation in order to maintain the immediacy and the necessary simplicity of personal communication.
Most of these studies have been published in volumes of the Proceedings of the Conferences or elsewhere, as indicated below. They are republished or initially published in this volume, not according to thematic similarity, but in chronological order, precisely because some at least of these, particularly those presented to the same audience, presuppose the previous ones.
