Organizational cases, or as they are internationally known, CASES or managerial cases, are a very useful and essential pedagogical tool for understanding, for future as well as current business executives. Based on this belief, this book was written.
It is quite difficult for any student to appreciate the value of a “theory” if they do not have the opportunity to apply it immediately in practice. However, this is impossible in a classroom setting. On the other hand, if one has to wait to enter the job market, they might forget quite a bit of what they learned by then. Additionally, they will miss the presence of their instructor, who could answer any questions or assist in applying the theories.
Therefore, by using organizational cases combined with theory during the teaching process, the student gains an experience that helps them internalize these theories, which otherwise they might think are not applicable.
All the cases presented in this book are real and pertain to Greek businesses, with very few exceptions, which refer to foreign companies. The names of the companies mentioned are not real for obvious reasons.
