The stainless steel Rocket Stove from Petromax is designed internally in an L-shape to achieve excellent airflow and extremely efficient combustion. Twigs, pine cones, and leaves feed the stove from the bottom, which is insulated all around to prevent heat from escaping to the sides. This way, all the heat is directed to the top where you can cook on the cast iron base.
