It works great, all the ports (4 in total, Type-C input to USB3.0*1 on the top of the device + USB2.0*3 on the sides) without any issues.
The USB-C port on the hub is not for connecting other devices but for powering the hub in case it needs power (e.g. if you connect a large hard drive without its own power supply). So it is logical that it is not connected to any device you connect there.
The cable is short for a desktop computer, in my case it is a laptop and I wanted a short cable because everything is on the desk.
It emits a soft white light while connected to an active port, even in standby mode (at least in my case), and I haven't found a way to disable the light.
