This book addresses the legal question of so-called expansive decisions (increased penalties) in the field of compensation (primarily in the areas of public sector employment and social benefits) in Greece and Italy. Such a question is rooted in the issue of judicial enforcement of equality, its contested conceptual nature, and its ever-evolving history.
