It is heavy for you to reread now, in the days of freedom, the parts of the pamphlet that were distorted, suffocated, and tightened in iron tongs by the thought of tsarist censorship.

To say that imperialism is the suspension of the socialist revolution, that social-chauvinism (socialism in words, chauvinism in action) is a complete betrayal of socialism, a total shift to the side of the bourgeoisie, that this division of the labor movement is connected to the objective conditions of imperialism, etc., I had to speak in the language of a "slave," and I was forced to refer the reader, who was interested in this issue, to the articles I wrote abroad from 1914-1917 that are set to be republished soon.

It is particularly worth noting a section on pages 119-120: to explain to the reader, in a form permitted by censorship, how shamelessly the capitalists and the social-chauvinists who have sided with them (whom Kautsky combats so inconsistently) lie about the issue of annexations, how shamelessly they hide the annexations of their own capitalists, I had to use as an example... Japan!
