Description

Upgrade the sound of your turntable with the Audio Technica AT85EP cartridge. Specially designed for P-mount (T4P) systems, it features a 0.3 x 0.6 mil elliptical stylus and Dual Magnet technology for excellent channel separation and fidelity. Ideal for classic Technics turntables and those from other manufacturers, offering easy plug-and-play installation.

Dual Magnet Technology for High Fidelity

The Audio Technica AT85EP cartridge incorporates the company's renowned Dual Magnet design. Using two magnets positioned in a V-shape, the cartridge achieves excellent channel separation (20 dB at 1kHz) and a wide frequency response range (20 - 20,000 Hz), reproducing your music with clarity and detail.

Special P-mount (T4P) Support

Designed exclusively for turntables that use the P-mount system, the AT85EP allows direct connection to the tonearm without the need for wiring or complicated alignment adjustments. It is the ideal solution for owners of classic turntables (such as many Technics models) who are looking for a quality and easy plug-and-play upgrade.

Elliptical Stylus for Precision

The AT85EP features a bonded elliptical stylus with a size of 0.3 x 0.6 mil. The elliptical design allows the stylus to follow the grooves of the record with greater accuracy compared to standard spherical styli, offering improved high-frequency response and lower distortion.

Technical Specifications & Settings

The cartridge operates with a recommended vertical tracking force of 1.0 - 1.5g, ensuring minimal wear on your vinyl records. With a vertical tracking angle of 20° and a recommended load resistance of 47,000 ohms, it is compatible with most phono stages on the market, maintaining high levels of sonic balance.

This specific head is the best for its price, very good clean sound, with a decent stereo separation and performance in a wide range of audio frequencies.

In a quick first listen, excellent upgrade for the cheap and quite old turntable we have. Clean sound with very nice highs and sweet mids. The records I tried were not demanding in the bass, but even those were clear and properly placed in the space.

It is a p-mount (check if it is compatible with your turntable) and can be installed in 2-3 minutes.

I am looking forward to trying it in more demanding listening sessions, if anything changes, the review will be updated.
