A boy growing up in a neighborhood of Pera in Istanbul in the last century. His emotionally deficient relationship with his father shapes his adulthood; his imaginary friends, Muftar, Luc, Jan, and Zeno. The brief and inexplicable disappearance of his father will ignite the son's anger and years-long flight. Memory and its fragments: the trains in Sirkeci, the Orient Express, London, the cemetery of Sisli, the disappearance of Agatha Christie, and the key to room 411 at the Pera Palace hotel. Ultimately, what does it mean to return to one's birthplace? Is it simply a way to mourn -even if belatedly- the dead, or does it lead to a realization of the past and mark the beginning of a new start?
