Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Capsules

The CO₂ cartridge is a small, single-use metal cylinder filled with compressed carbon dioxide (CO₂).

It is placed in the gun as a power source for propelling the pellets (or for greater realism with Blowback).

Single Function

It means that the trigger performs only one action: it releases the hammer to fall and fire. The trigger does not cock the hammer by itself.

- Trigger feel: Usually light and with a shorter travel compared to Double Action.

- Accuracy: The lighter and crisper character reduces loss of aim when pulling the trigger. For this reason, it is a common choice for competition/target pistols and for shooters who prefer fine control.

- Speed: Although the SA trigger is quick to pull, it requires time/movement to cock before each shot.

- Safety: The light trigger can be more sensitive to accidental discharge if not handled properly. It is often combined with other safety mechanisms.

Metal Projectiles (Pellets)

Pellets are specially shaped projectiles (usually made of lead or alloy) designed for rifled barrels. Their distinctive shape ("diabolo" with a narrow waist and widened rear) helps seal the barrel and stabilize flight (gyroscopic effect), providing better accuracy than spherical BBs in rifled barrels.
